  • Tip the fan to its side and remove the three size 8 screws using a 9/32 flat-head screwdriver.
  • The screws may be brittle from age, so be careful.
  • Take the bottom plate off the fan and set it aside.

  • Remove the three number 8 screws that hold the switch in place.

  • Remove the switch, carefully sliding the speed lever out of its slot.
  • Don’t remove the switch too quickly or you can damage the head-wire.

  • Once the switch is free, unscrew the two knurled nuts holding the wires in place.

  • Turn the switch over and unscrew the nut securing the wire with the 5/16 crescent wrench.

  • Remove the switch and set it aside, then pull the wire through the grommet.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
