- The screws may be brittle from age, so be careful.

- Remove the three number 8 screws that hold the switch in place.

- Remove the switch, carefully sliding the speed lever out of its slot.
- Don’t remove the switch too quickly or you can damage the head-wire.

- Once the switch is free, unscrew the two knurled nuts holding the wires in place.

- Turn the switch over and unscrew the nut securing the wire with the 5/16 crescent wrench.

- Remove the switch and set it aside, then pull the wire through the grommet.
