Step 1
Upgrade 2000 and earlier model BMWs with the Widescreen Navigation
- Upgrading from the 4:3 Small screen display to Widescreen display is quite simple
- Remove the dash trim pieces on either side of the display. Using a Phillips screw driver remove the small trim panel screws on either side and gently lift the brass faceplate release mechanism shown in the above photo.

Upgrading from the 4:3 Small screen display to Widescreen display is quite simple
Remove the dash trim pieces on either side of the display. Using a Phillips screw driver remove the small trim panel screws on either side and gently lift the brass faceplate release mechanism shown in the above photo.

Step 2
- Once the faceplate has been removed unscrew the 4 screws around the monitor and slide out
- Disconnect the blue and white power plugs on the unit. To remove the plugs release the locking tab by pressing the release mechanism on the back of the plug gently with your finger
- Remove the old unit completely and connect the widescreen display unit to the car using the exact same 2 plugs
Once the faceplate has been removed unscrew the 4 screws around the monitor and slide out

Step 3
- Insert the new Monitor and replace the 4 screws in the exact locations that they were previously removed from on the old display. Snap the trim frame in place
- Snap the trim panels around the dash pieces back in place

Step 4
- Simple and Quick installation is complete
- New display works EXACTLY as the old display works, as the display is only a cosmetic upgrade. The display is like a computer monitor. upgrading to the larger display is like getting a new and larger computer desktop monitor. The function is the same as this is a cosmetic upgrade only.

This cosmetic upgrade is very easy and quick plug and play replacement for 2000 model and older BMWs with the small 4:3 aspect ratio display. The display upgrade is a cosmetic upgrade
