Introduction

When the rubber of the Racor (the fuel filter that filters gas from the tank to the motor) that seals the bottom and top parts of the piece that separates the gas and the water wears, you should replace it. The water going to the bottom half and the gas is pumped into the motor by the air pear. When the rubber holding together everything gets full of rust it won’t let gas get into where it’s supposed to go. Instead of dividing water to the bottom and the air pear pumping the gas at the top into the motor, it will pump air and not a drop of gas into the motor of the boat. So, for the motor to turn on and operate as it should, the Racor has to be completely replaced.

Before using this guide, make sure that you verify that the fuel filter is not operating correctly and that you have its replacement before starting the process.

The procedure requires you to buy a new Racor fuel filter.

What you need

Step 1

              Suction Fuel System and Fuel Filter
  • Attach 10 mm socket to a 1/4" ratchet wrench and loosen the bolt on the left side and then the right.

  • Apply the thread sealant to the four bolts that will be attached to the new top base of the new fuel filter.

  • Screw the four bolts with the thread sealant to the new top base of the new fuel filter.

Step 4

  • Attach the two two-inch clamps to the two fuel lines.
  • Then attach the fuel lines with the two two-inch clamps to the new top base.

Step 5

  • Screw the two-inch clamps with the paddle screwdriver until is secure to the fuel line.
  • Repeat the previous process on the other fuel line.
  • Finally, screw the new Racor fuel filter to the top base.

Finally, screw the new Racor fuel filter to the top base.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
