What you need

Step 1

              2002-2004 Nissan Xterra Taillight               
  • Turn off the vehicle by removing the keys from the ignition.
  • Open the back trunk door.

  • Use the 10 mm wrench to remove the two screws on the back panel.

  • Gently, but firmly push the assembly to loosen the plastic alignment pins.

Step 4

  • Remove the taillight socket from the taillight assembly by rotating it counterclockwise and lifting the socket out.

Step 5

  • Remove the defective light bulb from the socket by pulling up on the socket.

Step 6

  • Insert the new light bulb into the same socket.

Step 7

  • Test the light bulb by turning the headlights of the car on. If it lights up, it properly works.

Step 8

  • Once the flanges are lined up, press in the socket and turn clockwise to lock in place.
