What you need
Step 1
Oil
- Securely lift the vehicle using a hydraulic jack.
- Once lifted use a jack stand on each side of the car to hold it up.
- Make sure that the car or jack stands cannot shift at any point in the process. If you hear/see the vehicle shift or move at any point in the process, stand clear of it and double check the jack stands from a safe area.

Step 2
- Place the oil drain container under the oil plug to catch the oil.
- Use a size 15mm socket to unscrew the oil plug.

- Drain oil into the oil drain container
- Take the drained oil to a local auto shop (AutoZone, Advanced Auto, or O’Reilly’s, etc.) to properly dispose of it.

Step 4
- Screw the oil plug back into the oil pan after completely draining the oil using the same ratchet and socket.

Step 5
- Lower the car off of the jack stands.
- Unscrew the oil cap.
- Pour in 5 quarts of new oil (funnel optional).
- Screw the oil cap back on.
- Idle the engine for about 10 minutes after completing all other steps.

To complete the repair, the car needs to be lowered and filled with oil.
