What you need

Step 1

              Throttle Position Sensor (TPS)               
  • Pull the release lever for the hood.

  • Slide the latch under the center of the hood to the left and then open the hood.

Step 3

  • Disconnect the positive battery terminal by loosening the 10 mm nut and pulling the wire of the red battery terminal.

Step 4

  • Remove the connector attached to the TPS by sliding back the red clip and pulling.

Step 5

  • Use a T20 Torx screwdriver to remove the two bolts holding in the sensor.

Step 6

  • Remove the old TPS.

  • Install the new TPS and put the two T20 Torx bolts back in.

Step 8

  • Connect the connector to the new TPS and make sure the red clip is pushed forward.

  • Reconnect the positive battery terminal, by tightening the 10 mm nut and putting the red cover back over it.

  • Close the hood and make sure it is closed securely.

  • Start the car and make sure that it is running normally.
