- Open the hatchback and hold it in place so that you can easily reach the lights that illuminate the license plate. You may need to have another person hold the hatchback steady for you.

- Using a small screwdriver, loosen and remove the screw that is holding the license plate light in place with a Phillips #1 screwdriver.

- Once the screw is removed, wedge the end of a spudger or flathead screwdriver between the light and the black plastic.
- Gently pop the light out.

- Use one hand to hold the light steady. Place the thumb and the index finger of the other hand on the metal ends of the light. Gently pull the light away from the metal frame.
- Do not touch the glass part of the light with your fingers.
