Introduction

Side marker lights are auxiliary safety lights that clearly show other drivers your vehicle’s location and direction of travel from a variety of angles. Without this bulb there is an additional risk while driving that other’s on the road will not be alerted to your presence during the night or other obscure environments.

Step 7-8 requires you to handle the glass bulb. It is important to remember proper handling of glass during these steps.

Before beginning, make sure to turn off your car completely.

What you need

Step 1

              Side Marker Light               

• Release the hood lock found in the driver-side foot-well.
• Find the latch under the center of the hood.
• Depress the latch to release the hood.
• Aline the hood strut into the designated hole to keep the hood open while working.

Step 2

• Remove the screws connected to the headlamp using the Torx T30 socket wrench OR 10 mm flat head screwdriver.

• Pull the headlamp carefully upwards towards the hood until you hear a click.

• Disconnect the headlamp

• Twist the bulb cover counterclockwise.
• Be careful when removing the bulb cover because it is fragile.

• Pull on the bulb cover to take out the bulb holder.

• Pull the bulb out of the bulb holder.
• These bulb are fine to throw away with your regular trash.

Step 8

• Press the new bulb into the bulb holder.
• Do not touch the bulb with your bare hands. The oil from your hands can cause the bulb to shatter as it heats up. If you do touch the bulb, be sure to wipe the bulb clean with an alcohol wipe.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
