Introduction
The cabin air filter helps remove any harmful pollutants from outside the car to ensure the air inside the cabin is fresh and clean. Failure to replace the cabin air filter may result in worsening allergies due to the dust and bugs that are contained within the cabin air filter.
Before using this guide, inspect any air vents and ensure they are free of debris or dust as this could affect the cabin air filter’s performance. Turn on the vehicle’s air conditioning to ensure the air ventilation system is working properly. Doing so will allow you to isolate the issue by making sure all other factors are not at fault. Turn off the air conditioner after inspection. Additionally, replacing the cabin air filter will help to minimize the outside air pollutants inside the cabin as well as ensuring the HVAC system is not enduring any unnecessary strain. Discarding this replacement could lead to harmful and toxic pollutants entering the cabin leading to respiratory health issues.
Step 5 requires you to replace the old air filter with the new air filter. A new cabin air filter can be purchased at any auto store. Make sure to purchase the correct air filter for the 2012 Honda Accord LX-P.
Before beginning, make sure the vehicle’s engine is switched off and engage the parking brake.
