Introduction

Before beginning this repair, turn off the car and engage the parking brake.

What you need

  • Lift up the windshield wiper you’re replacing.

  • Insert a flathead screwdriver into the locking mechanism of the wiper and gently pry it open.
  • You can use your car keys in case you do not have a screwdriver.

  • Push the wiper blade downwards until it locks into place.

  • Angle the wiper away from you, so that the top is near you while the bottom is farther away.
  • Gently push the blade out of the wiper base.

Step 5

  • Bring the new wiper blade into the wiper base from the car, aiming it so that the wiper base enters the lock hole.
  • Once the wiper blade is in, hold it from the bottom and push it upwards to secure the hold.
  • Make sure to start with the lock open, and that the blade is facing the same direction as the picture.

  • Push down the lock with force until it clicks.
