Introduction

As is the case in any electronical device, the battery will either die or become corroded after a long time.  If you notice your stopwatch has stopped working, the battery likely needs replacement. This guide will demonstrate how to access and replace the battery without damaging the rest of the watch.

What you need

  • Unscrew the back of the watch with a Phillip’s head #0, 2.5 millimeter screwdriver.
  • Set the screws to the side. You will need them to reassemble the watch.

  • Remove the back of the watch.

  • Remove the motherboard holding the battery.

  • Remove the black frame and the gray rubber piece that is surrounding the battery.

  • Pull back the metal latch that is holding the battery.
  • Do not bend or distort the latch. The latch enables the electric current to run through the device from the battery.

Step 6

  • Remove the battery while still pulling the latch.

Step 7

  • Place the new Maxell CR2032 3v battery into the motherboard with the positive side up or facing you.
  • Ensure that the latch is touching the positive side of the battery once it is placed inside.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
