The power button does not power on the computer and the computer shows no signs of responding.
If the device does not turn on when hitting the power button the battery may be dead. Ensure that the device is plugged into a power source. The charging cord should display a light if the computer is charging.
If the computer is plugged into a power source and continues not to charge, the battery of the device is malfunctioning. To fix it, replace the battery with a new one following the Acer Aspire 3000 Battery Replacement guide.
The computer turns on but the screen is black
If the computer is turned on and the screen is still black, it is possible the display brightness is turned all the way down. Press Fn key to increase the brightness of the screen.
If the device is on but the screen shows no display it is possible the computer went into sleep mode. Try pressing the power button to wake it back up.
If the laptop is on and the screen display does not work, it is possible that the LCD screen needs to be replaced. Replace using the Acer Aspire 3000 Screen Replacement guide.
No sound can be heard from the device
The first step in resolving any sound issues is to open up the laptop’s audio controls and verify that the sound is not muted, and that audio is set to play out of the computer’s internal speakers. Restart the computer, and if the issue still persists check that all of the computer’s audio software is up to date, such as the operating system and device drivers.

Your device does not function as quickly or efficiently as normal.

Your device may be experiencing hard drive failures if your files are often lost, if the Hard Drive is making uncommon noises, if your files do not save correctly or if the computer freezes. These are common signs of a full hard drive. The solutions are to expand your hard drive to hold more files using the Acer Aspire 3000 Hard Drive Replacement guide, to move files to an exterior hard drive, or to delete a significant amount of current files in order to clear space for more.
The device feels warm/hot and the vents are blowing hot air.
Your device may be experiencing overheating as a result of multiple programs running. If unsure on what programs are running, press the buttons ctrl>alt>delete simultaneously and select task manager. End programs and close excess windows.
If the device seems to be overheating the reason may be that the fan processor is clogged with dirt or dust. To fix this, use compressed air to clean out the vents. If the problem persists the fan will need to be replaced. Follow this guide to replace it.
