Step 1

              Battery               
  • Unplug the charging cable from the laptop and the wall. Failure to disconnect the charging cable could result in electric shock.
  • Turn the laptop over.
  • Locate the orange switch next to the battery.

Step 2

  • Using a small tool such as tweezers or a pen, slide the orange switch completely to the left to unlock the battery.
  • While holding the orange switch in place, lift the battery by the lip and pull it away from the laptop.

              Keyboard               
  • Turn the laptop right-side up and open the lid.
  • Locate the 6 black plastic tabs on the top edge of the keyboard that are holding the keyboard in place.

Step 4

  • Starting in one corner, use tweezers to push the tabs inward to release the keyboard and then use the tweezers to gently pry the keyboard up and away from the laptop.
  • Repeat this step to each of the 6 tabs along the top of the keyboard. Use your blue plastic opening tool to keep the released sections of the keyboard up.
  • Do not to pull the keyboard too far away from the laptop, you will need to release an attached cable first. The cable is delicate and can break.

  • Once the keyboard is free, gently pull it towards you and lay it face down so the silver cable is visible.

  • Locate the two black tabs on either side of the base of the keyboard cable where it connects to the laptop.
  • Use the tweezers to push them both away from you in order to release the cable.

Step 7

  • Gently pull the cable free from the socket. The keyboard is now unattached.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
