- Lift the back panel using a plastic opening tool. Slowly make your way around the device until the back panel comes off.

Battery
- Press and hold the small black button located on the motherboard just above the battery for five seconds.

- Using two plastic opening tools tightly grab the connector going from the battery to the motherboard and pull to unplug.

- Unscrew two 6.2 mm Phillips #1 screws on the right and left sides of the battery.

- Carefully remove the battery by lifting it out of the casing.

Can I remove the battery and use only the ac adapter to power it? Will it work and not cause damage to the unit?

when you take the battery out it works ok and when you put the battery the orange light when take out the battery its fine could it be the battery or board connector
when battery is out it works fine when connect out and orange and blue light come on then no display remove battery every returns to normal

Thanks - battery replacement carried out successfully by a technical incompetent! This step-by-step guide is much clearer and easier to follow than a video - wish there were more like this out there.
