Introduction

When working with electronics, it’s important to choose a tool that’s ESD-safe to avoid accidental damage to the device. The metal spudger is great when you need serious prying power, but the regular black nylon spudger or a plastic opening tool should be used whenever possible.

What you need

  • Using a spudger remove the two screw covers on the front of the computer.

  • Remove the two 1.2 mm Phillips #1 screws that were located under the screw covers.

Step 3

  • Using a spudger for assistance remove the front panel of the screen.
  • It is recommended that you use a plastic spudger to reduce the chance of damaging any internal parts.

Step 4

  • Remove the eight 1.2 mm Phillips #1 screws holding on the screen.
  • There are wires connected to the screen unit. Make sure you do not attempt to pull off the screen just yet!

Step 5

  • Carefully remove the display ribbon cable from the connector.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
