- First you will flip your laptop upside down so the battery side is facing up.

- In order to access the battery you will need to remove the 18 5mm screws. Using your Phillips J1 bit remove the screws.

- Stand your laptop up on its side to find the seams.

- Carefully insert your plastic opening tool into the seam and move up and down to separate the back panel from the front. Repeat this process all around the laptop until all sides have been separated.

- Remove the bottom plastic panel from the top.

- Locate the laptop speaker connector.

- Once you have disconnected the speakers you will now have two separate pieces.

- The battery is located on the bottom panel.

- Use the plastic lever here and slide it to the side.

- While holding the plastic lever, gently separate the battery from the bottom panel of the laptop.

- Take the old battery and dispose per manufacturers website.

You don’t have to remove the cover to remove the battery. Step 11 can be done with the cover on. Slide the switch over. Battery pops right out.

Yes don’t need to take cover off -battery can be removed by using a pen/screwdriver to slide the tab to the side & battery releases.
It has a very small image of an arrow with a pen next to it. Very misleading (I tried to push it in first!)
If you wiggle the battery, you can see the battery release tab moves with it :-)
