Introduction

The battery spans the majority of the length of the back of the laptop and can be easily removed without the use of any tools.

If your battery no longer holds a charge like it should, it may be time to replace your battery. This may happen due to overcharging the battery or a battery that overheats.

The replacement battery mentioned below is only compatible with the 10.8V and 11.1V models of this device. Because this battery is not from Acer themselves, the battery will protrude from the bottom and back of the laptop and will cause your laptop to sit at an angle. Another consequence of the replacement battery is possible inability to connect to a docking station.

What you need

  • Carefully turn your Acer Aspire V5-131-2629 upside down, so that the battery cell is visible and nearest to you.

  • Identify the small, oval slide switch on the left hand side of the laptop, directly above the battery.

  • Insert an opening tool into the hole on the right side of the oval switch. Use the opening tool to slide the switch to the right.

Step 4

  • With the switch engaged to the right, firmly pull the battery out and towards yourself, parallel to your work surface.
