The device fails to power on when you press the power button.
Charge the battery by plugging in the power cord. Wait a few seconds, and press the power button.
If the device won’t power on despite being plugged in, there may be an issue with the internal battery failing to hold a charge. Follow our guide to replace the battery.
The device’s keys are not functioning.
If only some of the keys fail to create an input, or if they get stuck when pressed down and cannot be used, you may need to replace individual keys. Use this guide to replace any broken keys on the keyboard.
If the entire keyboard fails to create an input, he keyboard may need updating on its software. Update the software by downloading it from the Acer Aspire main website. Follow this link to the Aspire V5-552PG product support page and click on the “Driver” tab, then select the appropriate driver and click download.
You get an error message that you can’t access your random access memory.
A loose RAM slot may prevent the device from accessing random access memory. Follow our guide to repair the RAM slot.
Power surges can overload circuits and cause damage to components of the computer, including the RAM. It is likely the RAM needs to be replaced, which you can do by following our replacement guide. Using power surge protected extension cords and computer components can prevent this issue in the future.
The device is having issues connecting to the internet.
If the device is on Airplane mode, the laptop cannot connect to the internet. Turn off airplane mode by pressing Fn + F3 on the keyboard.
If the device is not connecting to the internet it could be a problem with an outdated software. Download the needed drivers from the Acer Aspire main website. Follow this link to the Aspire V5-552PG product support page and click on the “Driver” tab, then select the appropriate driver and click download.
The device shows only a non-moving screen.
The device can freeze up when there are a lot of actions going on at once. Close unused or unresponsive apps via the task manager to fix this. Open the task manager by pressing ctrl + alt + del and selecting Task Manager, then highlight unused apps and click “End task” to close them.
The device may tend to overheat. Make sure the fan is working, and clean the vents of any dust and debris by using a cotton swab or a pressurized air canister. If the fan is not working, follow our guide to replace it.
