Introduction

A functional battery provides power to your laptop. Eventually, laptop batteries will rapidly drain after going through a repeated amount of charge cycles.

A punctured battery can cause a dangerous fire. If your battery is swollen, the battery may catch fire or explode, so take the appropriate precautions.

Make sure to power down your device and disconnect from any power sources before you begin.

What you need

              Back Cover               

• Turn off the laptop before starting.
• Flip the laptop over so the model stickers face the ceiling.

• Remove twelve 7 mm screws from the back of the laptop using a Phillips #1 screwdriver.

• Use a Jimmy to pry apart the bottom of the case from the laptop.
• Be careful not to warp or crack the case.

              Battery               

• Carefully detach the ribbon cable connecting the battery and the motherboard.

• Use your hands to lift the battery out of the device.
