Introduction
Before replacing the SSD, make sure you have a compatible SSD replacement. SSDs that are non-compatible will result in an inoperative computer.
What you need
Step 1
Bottom Cover
- Place the laptop upside-down so that the fans are facing away from you.
- Remove the twelve 6.7 mm screws from the bottom cover using a Phillips #1 screwdriver.
- Pry the bottom cover away from the laptop using a spudger.

Step 2
SSD
- Remove the two 2.9 mm screws from the SSD cover using a Phillips #1 screwdriver.

Step 3
- Remove the SSD plate cover.
Remove the SSD plate cover.
Step 4
- Carefully pull the SSD out of the socket.
- Place the new SSD stick into the slot until a click is heard.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
