Introduction

Make sure you disconnect the battery before working by removing the battery connector cable. This is seen in the guide on how to replace the battery found here.

What you need

              Solid State Drive               
  • Turn the laptop so that the back cover is visible and facing you. Make sure it is on a flat surface such as a table.
  • Use a Phillips #0 screwdriver to remove the 6 mm screws along the edge of the bottom cover.

  • You can now remove the back panel using your fingers or a spudger.

  • Carefully unplug the battery connector so the laptop is safer to work with.
  • Make sure you pull it straight back.

Step 4

  • Once the back is open and the battery is disconnected, you should be able to see the SSD on the top right of the laptop if oriented as seen in the photo.
  • The removal of the SSD should be simple as there is only one 6 mm PH0 Phillips screw holding it in place.
  • Once the screw is removed, you may safely remove the SSD and replace it with your new one.

Once the back is open and the battery is disconnected, you should be able to see the SSD on the top right of the laptop if oriented as seen in the photo.
