Introduction

Since the commercial release of this speaker, Allview has not updated the firmware and application allowing the control of this speaker; thus making it inoperative for the use of Alexa online services.

The original firmware also contains a large number of security vulnerabilities (CVE-2019-15310) making their use vulnerable to attacks.

This tutorial will explain how to update the original firmware with an alternative firmware.

Disassembly of the device is not required.

What you need

Step 1

              Connection to the speaker
  • The first step is to connect to the web interface integrated into the speaker
  • If your speaker is already connected to your Wifi network, from a web browser connect to it: http:///
  • If your speaker is not yet connected to your wifi network, look for the speaker’s access point (by default V-Bass_xxxx) and connect to it. Once connected, the web interface will be http://10.10.10.254/

Step 2

              Download a compatible firmware
  • This speaker is powered by an A31 rev 04 module built by Linkplay. The UUID number of the speaker is FF310022. Another product powered by Linkplay to the same UUID, so it is at all points identical at the material level. This is the Meet Riff marketed by theFABRIQ (ref: WB 22)
  • The firmware was pulbiased on 04/12/2018 and is powered by version WiiMu.4.0.6404 instead of version 3.6.4324 published on 24/04/2017
  • Downloaded the firmware from the linkplay update site: Fimware
  • Optional: Check the firmware MD5: 38f62a205a7d312520958b15599bdc3f a31dossora_new_uImage_20181204

Step 3

Uploaded the firmware to your speaker
  • Go to your speaker’s website (http://10.10.10.254 when you are connected to the speaker’s AP or the speaker’s ip address on your Wifi network)
  • Click on “Settings”
  • Then on “System”
  • Check that your speaker is well charged, it would be a shame to have a battery failure during the update…
  • In “Firmware upgrade” click on choose a file, select the previously downloaded file and click on “apply”
  • The speaker informs you by a voice message that the update is in progress. Do not unplug your speaker!
  • Once the update is complete, the speaker informs you that it is completed with a voice message.

Step 4

              Download a compatible application
  • Many applications are compatible with this speaker (more than 200) (because all based on linkplay)
  • I have referenced the one that should work on Android here.
  • The most up-to-date (when writing this article) is Audio Pro Contol available for Android and Iphone

Step 5

(Optional) Updated with Curl or the official tool
  • Once the update is done, the new firmware versions no longer have a WEB interface to perform a new update.
  • To make a new update, you must therefore go through the command line:
  • Retrieve the curl tool
  • Started a command prompt and then type the following command after having customised it (IP of the speaker, and file)
  • Curl -H ‘Upgrade-Insecure-Requests: 0’ -F ‘filename=@file_du_firmware’ http://<IP_DE_ENCEINTE>/cgi-bin/upload.cgi
  • You can also use the update tool distributed by Linkplay downloadable here (a tutorial is available in the archive file)

Top tuto ! enfin un moyen de mettre à jour et d’utiliser convenablement cette petite merveille qui était devenue quasi inutile à part en bluetooth.

Merci
