Introduction
You will need to add additional mix to the bottle periodically as the reactants are expended. Depending on how much mix you add, you should have to replace the mix every 4-6 weeks.More details on devices used in this guide:Airline Tubing: Used to manage where the CO2 flows.Airline Tubing Adapter: Used to connect the Airline Tubing to the bottle’s lid. This guide uses a homemade airline tubing adapter, but a commercial version works in the same fashion.CO2 Diffuser: Dispenses CO2 via the airline tubing.
What you need
Step 1

Step 3
- Poke, drill, or cut a small hole in a 2L bottle cap and insert an airline tubing adaptor.
- Use some kind of glue or sealant to seal the top of the bottle cap, ensuring an airtight fit.
- Connect one end of the airline tubing to the airline tubing adapter, and the other end of the airline tubing to the CO2 diffuser.

Step 5
- Place the CO2 diffuser on the inside of the aquarium tank at below half-depth of the water-level.
- Most CO2 diffusers are able to be stuck to the inside glass of the tank to achieve stronger stability.
- Make sure the bottle is not placed too far away from the aquarium tank as to avoid any accidents or tears with the airline tubing.
