Introduction

What you need

Step 1

              Case Separation

Slide the flat end of the spudger under the front edge of the screen and carefully pry it open.
The front edge is the side with the buttons on it.
You may hear a cracking sound when pulling the case off of the device. This is normal, and is just the clips being pulled apart. However, be careful and pull the clips slowly/cautiously to avoid damage.
Be aware of the speaker cable when removing the case, as it is still attached to the motherboard.

Step 2

              Tape Removal

Locate the Speakers; they should be attached to the case as shown.
Follow the wires back to the motherboard, removing all tape covering the wires along the way.
This will make it easier to move the wires around.

Step 3

              Desoldering Speakers

Desolder the black wire from the motherboard. This will separate the speakers from the board, allowing you to replace them.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
