What you need

Step 1

              Lower Case               
  • Use the T5 screwdriver to remove the nine 2.1 mm screws from the bottom of the device.

  • Use the iFixit opening tool to remove the 4 pads to reveal six 3.1 mm screws underneath.

Step 3

  • Use the T5 screwdriver to remove the six 3.1 mm screws under the pads.
  • There might be a layer of tape that covers the screws. Remove the tape first with a pair of tweezers.

Step 4

  • Use the iFixit opening tool to remove the back of the laptop.

  • Use the blunt nose tweezers to separate the keyboard from the internal components.

              Volume Control               
  • Use the tweezers to remove the white cable from the volume control component.

Step 7

  • Remove the two 1.2 mm screws using the J00 size screwdriver.

Step 8

  • Grip the component using the tweezers and lift it out of the device.
