What you need

Step 1

              Remove the battery               
  • The first thing you should do when disassembling electronic devices in general is to disconnect it from any power source. Make sure the AC adapter isn’t connected to the laptop before you start.
  • Turn the laptop upside down, with the battery side closest to you. Unlock the left slider by pressing it to the left. It will stay in this position.
  • Now slide the right slider to the right. This one won’t lock in position, so you must slide the battery towards you while pressing this slider to the right to remove it.

Step 2

              Remove the cover               
  • Unscrew the Phillips screw holding the RAM module cover.
  • Carefully lift the cover, so not to break any of the 3 plastic tabs holding it to the bottom cover of the laptop (two on the left, one on the right).

Step 3

              Unlock the RAM module               
  • Push the two metal brackets holding the module to the side, away from the module. This will make it pop up.

Step 4

              Remove the RAM module               
  • Grab the RAM module and pull it to the left.
  • You now have an empty RAM slot where you can place your replacement module.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
