Introduction
The purpose of your Asus Eee PC 1008ha cooling fan is to prevent your device from overheating. If you notice your device to failing to cool down effectively during and after use, you may need to replace the cooling fan.
The cooling fan for this device should be replaced if the fan is faulty or broken.
Be sure to power off your device and unplug it from the power source prior to beginning the repair.
What you need
Step 1
Battery
- Using the plastic opening tool, carefully pry the top panel from the base.

- Lift the side of the keyboard.
- Disconnect the attached ribbon located underneath the keyboard.
- Place your index finger in the hole on the right side of the keyboard tray and lift the tray.

- Use your fingers to lift the battery and gently disconnect the wires from the base.

Cooling Fan
- Use the Phillips #0 screwdriver to remove the two 2mm screws from the copper heat sink. These are found on the left side of the device.
- Make sure to remove the adhesive tape from the top of the heat sink.

Step 5
- Remove the small white connector attached to the fan. Make sure to carefully pull from the white connector. Do not pull the connecting wires, as this can cause damage to the component.
- Replace with new cooling fan!

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order. If your device is still having issues after replacing the cooling fan, ensure the device is powered off and carefully follow this guide from the beginning; you may have misplaced something.
