The battery performance appears to be decreasing more rapidly than usual
Try lowering your screen brightness by going to your device settings>system>display and then using the slider to adjust the brightness. The screen draws lots of power from the battery, and you can significantly extend battery life with lower brightness settings.
The Asus F555UA features Windows and an Energy-Saver or Power-Save mode that can be used to decrease battery usage while your laptop is closed or inactive. You can activate this setting by going to Settings > Battery > Powermaster > Battery modes
Check the Task Manager for background apps that you do not need running. The Task Manager app can be located by pressing the Control+Alt+Delete keys and selecting ‘Task Manager,’ or by searching for ‘Task Manager’ in the Windows search box (usually found in the bottom left side of the screen. Right-click on apps that you wish to close and select ‘end task.’
- Additionally, when first installed onto a computer, some programs will ask if the user wants an application to launch as soon as Windows opens on startup. For future program installations, disable this function.
If the problem continues to persist despite these fixes, the battery may need replacement.

The device often disconnects from the internet even when a WiFi signal is present
Make sure there is not an Ethernet cable plugged into the device
Airplane mode is a setting on many portable electronic devices that effectively forces a device offline, meaning it cannot access wireless internet. To check and see if this setting is enabled - and potentially turn it off - access your device settings, click on ‘Network and Internet’ and click on the ‘Airplane Mode’ tab to disable the setting.
Wireless issues can often be solved by disabling and re-enabling the wireless adapter. Open the device manager by searching for it in the Windows search box on the bottom-left side of your screen. Right-click on the tab that reads ‘This PC’ and then right-click again on the tab that says ‘Wireless Adapter.’ From there, select ‘disable,’ wait 30 seconds, and then select ‘enable.’
Audio is choppy or will not play
Check the sound settings to make sure the volume is set to an audible level.
A loose connection is a common cause of choppy, distant, or faded audio. If you are using headphones, make sure the aux cord is fully plugged in on both ends. If you are using a Bluetooth device, make sure it is connected to your laptop. To check, access your Bluetooth settings from the Windows start menu and search for the device.
Another common cause of no audio output is out-dated drivers, which are in charge of converting signals from the computer into a format usable by speakers. In order to confirm these are up to date, open ‘Device Manager’ from the Windows start menu. Then, select ‘Sound, video, and game controllers’ and right click on your sound driver to open its ‘Properties’. Next, click on the ‘Driver’ tab and choose ‘Update Driver’. Windows should find and install the appropriate updates.
Audio problems can often be caused by selecting the wrong playback device, which is simply the preferred listening device (e.g. speaker, headphones). To fix this, open ‘Sound’ from the Windows start menu, select the desired device, then click ‘Set Default’.
While the charger is plugged in, the laptop fails to indicate that charging is occurring.
Check to see if there are any loose connections between the charging cable and the device, and make sure the charging cable is not damaged. It may be beneficial to try a different cable or adapter and see if the problem persists.
Turn off the device by holding the power button down for at least 10 seconds. Disconnect all cables and the battery. Leave the computer off for over 30 seconds, and then hold the power button for 10 seconds. Then reconnect the laptop to a power source and turn it back on.
There is a small chance that you may have lost or deleted an essential driver. The battery driver can be manually reinstalled by accessing the device manager through the windows search bar on the bottom of your screen. While the laptop is connected to the internet, uninstall and then reinstall the driver to your laptop.
The device randomly shuts down on startup, in sleep mode, or when the screen is closed.
Asus devices often randomly shut down as a result of an overheating issue. Clean out any hair, dust, and other particles that may slow down the fans and decrease performance. This can be done by spraying compressed air into the device to loosen up some of the debris. We suggest that compressed air be sprayed indirectly into the device from a distance and on an angle, as spraying the fans with compressed air directly could result in damage. If the problem continues to persist, or fan blades are broken, the fans may need to be replaced.

If the laptop is exposed to extreme temperatures or humidity, the performance may decrease to the point where the laptop would shut down. The operational range of temperatures for this laptop ranges from 41 degrees Fahrenheit to 95 degrees Fahrenheit. Move the laptop to an ideal environment where it would operate within that range.
Desktop shutdowns (without a low battery warning) may be a result of using the wrong charger voltage.
Installing new software can cause the laptop to shutdown unexpectedly. When installing new software always make sure to run a security scan on it first. Having an anti virus software would mitigate the risk for computer based viruses. If issue still persists try to reinstall the operating system however make sure to back up your files first.
