When I press the power button on my computer, nothing happens.

Plug in the power adapter and try to turn on the computer. If your computer turns on while plugged in, the battery needs to be charged for a few hours. If your computer doesn’t turn on at all, the battery needs to be replaced.

If your computer isn’t charging, it might be a faulty power adapter. If possible, try a different adapter of the same voltage to see if your computer will power on.

If your device does not turn on at all, even after charging it, you should replace the battery.

My computer becomes extremely hot, causing it to slow down

Sometimes your device may overheat due to dust or other materials stuck in the fan.

  • Turn off your computer and unplug it from any electrical outlet.Open your computer’s case.With compressed air, dust the inside of your computer of computer. Try to remain a few inches away from your device.To remove the dust from the fan, use compressed air while holding the fan with your finger to keep it from spinning. You can use rubbing alcohol to clean the blade with a cotton swab.Finally, dust off all the ports on the computer and clean all exterior vents with rubbing alcohol and a cotton swab.

Try to keep the bottom of your device free of any objects, so the laptop can get the air it needs to keep cool.

My device’s screen is completely black, yet I can still hear sounds.

Your brightness could be possibly be turned down all the way, causing your screen to be too dark. You can use FN + F5 or FN + F6 on your keyboard to adjust the brightness.

Your screen might be black because of a startup error. This is usually related to the video card or inner programs.

  • Remove the battery and adapter from computer.After a few minutes, insert the battery and adapter.Make sure the computer is clean and dry. If the computer is in a moist environment it might not startup.Hold the F2 key and power button at the same time and release at same time to see if it works.

If the previous methods did not work, it could possibly be related to the battery. In which case, you would need to replace the battery. For assistance on replacing the battery refer to our guide.

My device’s touchpad does not respond to any contact

Sometimes your touchpad may automatically be disabled when an external USB is inserted.

Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Mouse.

  • Click on ELAN on the top right and click Disable when external USB mouse plug in check box.Click on OK to finish the configuration

If your touchpad does not respond to any contact, you most likely have a damaged touchpad. You can use a mouse as an alternative or have your touchpad replaced.
