What you need

Step 1

              Battery               
  • Press and slide the two battery retention clips on either side of the battery towards the unlock position.

  • Pull the right side retention clip so that the red indicator is showing.
  • The small graphic below the retention clip denotes locked and unlocked positions. The clip will stay put once moved into position.

Step 3

  • Pull the retention clip on the left hand side of the laptop away from the battery.
  • Gently pull the battery out with your free hand.

              Lower Back Panel               
  • Remove the two 8.5mm screws using a PH0 screwdriver.

  • Using the iFixit opening tool, gently pry the plastic cover away from its original position.

  • Gently pull up and then towards you until the plastic cover is free.

              Hard Drive               
  • Remove the (3) screws that hold the hard drive to the case.

Step 8

  • Disconnect the SATA link from the hard drive by pulling back on the grey connector.

Step 9

  • Remove the two screws from each side of the hard drive tray.
  • Replace the hard drive with a new 2.5" hard drive or solid state drive.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.

So the link you give for the replacement hard drive is for a 3.5 inch drive instead of a 2.5 inch drive
