The device no longer has the capability to add files or programs
Try running the disk cleanup program
This will get rid of any unneeded program files and should improve the performance of the device. Running the option located next to the cleanup tab will aid in performance.
Open file finder
Click on This PC
Select local disk (single click)
At the top of the program, window locates the tab labeled manage and select it.
Then hit the option labeled cleanup
Uninstall any unwanted programs or Look at replacing the hard drive. [Hard Drive Replacement Guide]
There is a delay between when a key is pressed on the device and when the action occurs on screen
Try lowering the graphics quality in the game. This option can usually be found in the games setting menu, under the game interface.
The graphics card might be old or outdated and need replacing [Graphic Card Replacement Guide]
If it is an online game check the internet connectivity and the bandwidth of the router the computer is connected to.

Device is hot to the touch and has a slow reaction time
The device features vents that over time collect build up. Use canned air to clean out the vents. Remember to keep the can vertical to reduce the amount of moisture.
The device fan may stop working after the laptop boots up. Shut down the device and restart after a few minutes. If this is not the source then check the capacitor. [ Cooling Fan Replacement Guide]
Improper placement of a laptop can block the airflow from the vents. Placing the device on a hard flat surface will allow proper ventilation.
Unnecessary background programs can cause the device to lag
When the device is freezing or moving slower when being used. Try closing programs.
Go to Control Panel
Go to “Programs and Features”
Close applications/programs that are running in the background.
Check for operation updates as well as applications and other programs that you use daily up to date regularly or as needed.
Device can no longer access the camera, or the image quality is poor
If the webcam itself is damaged it will need to be replaced as a whole. If the issue is related to the webcam diver damage you can run a hardware troubleshooter to see if the issue can be fixed remotely
a. Press Windows key + C on your keyboard to show the Charms bar.
b. Type Troubleshooting and click Troubleshooting under Settings.
c. Now type Hardware Troubleshooter in the search option.
d. Click on Hardware troubleshooter to run the troubleshooter.
Check for manufacturer software updates to ensure you are running on the latest software for your webcam. Running on an old software can cause malfunctioning in the webcam.
