Introduction

A battery replacement can be a common fix to a number of battery and power related issues. A laptop may not hold charge or may not turn on at all even when plugged in. A faulty battery can be replaced simply and can help to fix these problems. No special skills or tools are required for this repair.

Make sure to have the computer turned off and unplugged from any power sources before replacing the battery.

Step 1

  • Place the computer upside down.
  • Using your thumbs, slide both latches away from each other (towards the outside).
  • Push the battery out with your fingers.
  • The actual battery is not pictured.
