What you need

Step 1

              Keyboard               
  • Flip the laptop upside down so that the back of the laptop faces you.

  • Remove the following ten Phillips #0 screws from the bottom of the laptop:
  • Six 13mm screws.
  • Four 11mm screws.

Remove the following ten Phillips #0 screws from the bottom of the laptop:

Six 13mm screws.

Four 11mm screws.

Step 3

  • Using a plastic opening tool, pry up the palm rest form the bottom half of the laptop.
  • Ribbon cables connect the two half so don’t remove completely.

Step 4

  • Use a spudger to flip up the retaining flap on the keyboard ribbon cable ZIF sockets.
  • Pull the ribbon cables out of their sockets.

Step 5

  • Take the keyboard half of the laptop and place it in front of you so that they keys are facing down.

  • Remove the three 3mm Phillips #0 screws from the touchpad.

Step 7

  • Use a spudger to flip up the retaining flap on the touch pad ribbon cable ZIF socket.
  • Pull the ribbon out of the socket.

Pull the ribbon out of the socket.

Step 8

  • Remove the touchpad.

Remove the touchpad.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
