Introduction

Most commonly, you would use this guide to upgrade the hard drive to a more modern one, such as a Solid State Drive (SSD). With a SSD, the computer will load programs significantly faster and will be quieter due to the lack of any moving parts.

Please keep in mind that only 2.5-inch SATA drives can be installed on this laptop, due to the size limitation of the drive bay.

What you need

Step 1

              Battery               

• Unscrew the (10) screws on the bottom of the computer chassis using the JIS #0 screwdriver.

• Slightly lift the lower case and push it toward the rear of the computer to free the mounting tabs.

Step 3

• Remove the (6) six screws attaching the battery to the frame using the JIS #0 screwdriver.
• Use the black plastic spudger to remove the battery from the device.

Step 4

• Gently take the battery out of the laptop, making sure that all wires connecting to it are disconnected.

Step 5

              Hard Drive               

• Gently pull on the hard drive bay to disconnect it from the motherboard.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
