What you need

Step 1

              Touchpad               
  • In order to remove the back lid, you must lay the laptop down with the lid closed and remove the screws with a Phillips #0 screwdriver.
  • There are five 80mm screws.
  • There are four 50mm screws.
  • Pull the back lid off of the laptop using your fingers.

Step 2

  • There should be a total of twelve 50mm screws when removing the battery.
  • The battery does not have to be fully removed for this step, however the screws must be taken out and the battery lifted.

Step 3

  • Use the Phillips #0 screwdriver to remove the six screws attached to the silver panel.
  • Disconnect the LED ribbon wires using a spudger to lift the clamp.

Step 4

  • Using the Phillips #0 screwdriver, remove the four screws on the silver panel.
  • Using a spudger, gently lift the silver ground strips off of the touch pad.
  • Pull the touch pad up and towards the battery to remove it from the laptop.

Pull the touch pad up and towards the battery to remove it from the laptop.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
