- Remove the 9 1.2mm phillips head screws off the back of the computer using the small phillips head screw driver. Start by disconnecting the battery cable/ribbon.

- Use a plastic opening tool to open the components of the laptop. In order to do this, insert the plastic opening tool in between the two covers then pry open with your fingers

- Locate the fan and take out the 5 1.2mm phillips head screws with the ifixit #0 small phillips head screw driver that hold the fan to the mother board.
- Remove the fan and unplug the cable connector that connects the fan to the motherboard.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
