- Disassemble the clarinet until you are handling only the joint containing the missing or damaged pad.

- Remove the damaged pad by inserting the screwdriver under the pad and peeling it off the key.

- Squeeze a dot of super glue into the empty key.
- Take care to not overfill the key or glue will ooze out and potentially bind the key to the instrument.

- Quickly insert the new pad into the key, taking care not to smear the glue.

- Using the screwdriver, press the pad down to secure it to the key
- Hold the pad for 5 seconds to let the glue harden

- Place a small piece of paper between the key and the instrument to avoid residual glue binding the key to the instrument
- Let the instrument sit out for a few minutes to let the glue fully dry
