- Use a seam ripper to rip out the thread.
- The thread to be cut is the one that attaches the buckle to the strap. It’s usually sewn to form an X on it.

- Pick up the strap buckle that was attached to the strap.
- Take out the material from the old buckle.

- Place the material into the new buckle.
- Look for the original spot which it was originally sewn and place it there.

- Use a needle and thread to sew the material linking strap and buckle to the bag.
- Using a sewing machine if available would make this easier.
- Sew along the “X” outline on material attached to the buckle.

- Finally place the strap length adjuster into the buckle.
