Required Equipment: Torx T5 screwdriver; #00 Philips screwdriver; Opening/prying tool; new computer battery.

What you need

Step 1

              Remove back plate of computer               
  • Remove all 10 screws from the backplate of the computer using a Torx T5 screwdriver.
  • Make sure to keep all screws in a safe place, they are small and it is very easy to lose track of them.

              Use prying tool to help separate back plate               
  • Use the prying tool to help maneuver and separate the back plate off of the computer safely. This will expose important hardware and internal parts.

              Remove the silver bridge restricting the battery by lifting tabs               
  • Pull lightly on the blue tabs until the silver bridge is safely free.
  • Once the bridge is removed the battery is then accessible.

              Remove screws from battery bracket               
  • Get a #00 Philips head screwdriver ready for use.
  • Carefully remove the #00 Philips screws to release the battery from the computer.

              Disconnect battery from circuit board               
  • Locate the connector for the computer battery and circuit board.
  • Carefully pull up on the connection to safely disconnect the battery.

              Replace battery and reassemble computer               
  • Carefully replace with a new battery and reassemble the computer with all previously used screws.

Hello I want to ask. I’m trying to replace the battery and im at the part with the blue strip for the Silver bridge part is out how do I put it back on?

How did you determine you had to replace the battery. My green charging light won’t turn on and I’ve replaced the charger, but still nothing. Could this be due to a bad battery?
