Introduction
The magneto provides electrical energy to to fire a spark plug. It utilizes a rotating magnet to generate current through a coil. A bad rough coil can cause the aircraft engine to run poorly and shake.
The magneto should be routinely checked after every 500 hours of use.
What you need
Step 1
Rough coil
- Use a #2 Flathead screw driver to remove the five screws on the body of the magneto, indicated by the red circles.

- Locate the two screws on the right and left side of the primary circuit.
- Remove the screws using a #2 Flathead screw driver.

Step 3
- Remove the primary circuit and replace it.
- The super coil may seem as though it will not come out, but it does. It can just get a little jammed.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
