Step 1
Spark Plug Disconnection
- Grab the plastic housing at the end of the spark plug wire.
- Pull firmly to disconnect the wire from the spark plug.

Rear Guard
- Use a 1/2" socket or wrench to remove the two 26 mm bolts securing the rear guard to the back end of the brush cutter.

Step 3
- The brush cutter is heavy—get help before attempting to lift it.
- If you choose to tip the brush cutter onto its side, first drain the oil and gas.
- Raise and support the back end of the brush cutter—or tip it carefully onto its side—in order to access the bottom cover.

Step 4
- Use a 3/8” socket or wrench to remove the four 21 mm bolts securing the rear guard.
- Remove the guard.

Transaxle Drive Belt
- Relieve the tension on the transaxle drive belt by pressing on the back end of the tensioning arm. (Alternatively, use a pry bar on the front end of the tensioning arm, or remove the tensioning spring.)
- Slip the transaxle drive belt off the drive pulley.

Slip the transaxle drive belt off the drive pulley.
Step 6
- Free the belt by sliding it out between the transaxle pulley and the spindle belt.
- Remove the transaxle drive belt.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
