What you need

Step 1

              Brush Belt               
  • Here is the Bissell vacuum cleaner. The front brushes did no longer turn.
  • Unplug the vacuum and turn it over so the bottom of the vacuum can be accessed
  • There are a total of 7 Phillips head screws that need to be removed.
  • One of these screws is behind the height adjustment plate. It must be removed to gain access.

Step 2

  • Use a flat tip screwdriver to push the tab from the height adjustment plate inwards to the plate to free it from the vacuum cleaner. Procedure is typical for both sides.
  • Remove the height adjustment plate.
  • All Phillips head screws can now be removed.

Step 3

  • Turn the vacuum around and move the top cover straight up
  • Here is the brush assembly with the belt on the right. This belt was definitely broken.
  • Remove the brush by pulling it straight out.

Step 4

  • next place the new belt on the motor drive first, then the brush.
