What you need
Step 1
Battery
- Place your Blackberry facedown in front of you.

- Press the cover release button on the bottom of your device. Lift and remove the back cover.

- From the top, use your fingernail to lift the battery out.

Rear Case
- Remove the SIM card.

- Remove the six 7.0mm Torx screws securing the rear case to the rest of the phone.

- Use the plastic opening tool to remove the rear case.

LCD Screen
- With the same plastic opening tool, lift the motherboard up and out.
- Remove the motherboard assembly from left to right, using caution near the audio jack on the right side of the device.

- Using a spudger, lift the ribbon band in the upper right-hand corner up and away from the motherboard assembly until it disconnects.

Step 9
- Turn the motherboard assembly over.
- Starting at the lower corners of the screen, begin to lift the screen away from the motherboard using the spudger.
- Do this step very slowly to avoid breaking the screen or the motherboard. The backing will eventually separate.
- Remove the plastic bit that hides the speaker grill - it is stuck with double-sided tape.
- With a thin blade/pin, ease the speaker grill and the metal plate away from the old lcd screen.
Turn the motherboard assembly over.
Starting at the lower corners of the screen, begin to lift the screen away from the motherboard using the spudger.
Do this step very slowly to avoid breaking the screen or the motherboard. The backing will eventually separate.
Remove the plastic bit that hides the speaker grill - it is stuck with double-sided tape.
With a thin blade/pin, ease the speaker grill and the metal plate away from the old lcd screen.
To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
