  • Trace the outer black edge of the phone screen in a continuous circle with a hairdryer or heat gun to melt the adhesive.

Step 2

  • Insert an opening pick between the screen and the raised black plastic frame.
  • The black plastic frame is located inside and above the phone’s silvery outer metal frame.
  • Insert the flat blade of a nylon halberd spudger between the screen and the black plastic frame.
  • Pull the spudger blade through the adhesive around the circumference of the screen.

Step 3

  • Apply the suction cup to the phone screen, pressing lightly on the suction cup to remove air and form a tight seal.
  • The adhesive may have cooled from the time since step 1 and rebonded to the phone screen. Reheat the adhesive if necessary to return to a liquid state.
  • Pull on the handle to lift the screen free from the device.
