You have poor audio quality on your speaker.
The Bluetooth range for Bose speakers is about 33 feet so, be sure you are within range. Sometimes walls, doors, and other devices with their bluetooth on which were previously connected to your Bose speaker can distort and degrade the audio.
Electronics can pick up on interference from other products in close proximity. If possible, turn off those other products in the proximity.
Disconnect your device from the speaker and reconnect.
Every phone has an EQ (equalizer) setting which allows you to adjust the sound quality of the music.
If you are using the iPhone music app:
- From the iPhone’s home screen, tap Settings. From the sidebar, tap Music. The screen shown below appears.Tap EQ. The screen shown below appears.Tap a preset, such as Rock. The key is to select a preset that matches the type of music you normally listen to. Keep tapping presets until you find one that gives you the best audio.
If you are using an app such as Spotify or Pandora you will have to go to the settings of that app and adjust them until you find a preset that gives you the best audio.
If the audio sounds distorted make sure that the integrated microphone system is not damaged. It may need to be replaced.
Your SoundLink Micro will not hold a charge even after it has been placed on the charger for hours.
To make sure that it is an issue with the battery itself disconnect the charger from both ends and then reconnect.
If that still does not work try a different charger to determine if it was a problem with the charger.
Hold the power button for 10 seconds to see if device will reset
Once you have determined that the charger is not the problem and that the device has a faulty battery, it is time to replace the battery to restore your device.
The SoundLink micro uses a lithium ion battery and you can find this battery on the website where you purchased the speaker.
First you must acquire the proper tools, such as a screwdriver, knife, lithium ion battery, and a needle.
Open the device and remove the damaged battery. Then replace the damaged battery with the new one.
Once completed put the speaker back together and charge the SoundLink micro.
After charging the SoundLink Micro batter the speaker should function like normal.
Your product has been charged but it will not turn on.
On the USB charger, there is the indication of amp (A) or milliamp (mA) rating of the charger. The rating varies among chargers, including those from different models of the product. The closer the amp rating is to the maximum amp rating of the product, the faster the product will recharge. If the amp rating of the charger is too low, the product might take a long to charge or fail to charge at all. Refer to the specification which has been indicated on the product or within the owner’s guide for details.
Some products require a minimum of 1 amp of current for them to recharge. Most USB ports on PCs can only provide a maximum of 0.5 amps of current. Make sure you use safety-agency-approved power supply that meets the local regulatory requirements (for instance, UL, CSA, CCC, or VDE)
Disconnect the power connection for a few seconds, and then reconnect it. Within the first few seconds of connecting, a tone should play from the product. If a tone is heard but still the product will not power on, then the issue might be with the connections or controls. If there is no tone, then the product might not be receiving power or producing sound.
If the product functions when connected to the power outlet but fails to work when disconnected, then the issue could be the battery.
The Speaker’s connection to the paired device is not good.
Bose speakers typically remember the last several devices that were connected to the speaker in order to automatically pair. If you clear the remembered devices and reconnect your device to it we can then eliminate that bluetooth connection is not the cause for any audio distortion.
To clear remembered devices you power on your product and hold down the bluetooth button for 10 seconds until you hear a tone. This will mean your speaker has forgotten those devices and you can repair your device to ensure you are the only one connected.
You can go to the Bose Software Update Center to ensure that your speaker has the newest software. If the speaker is up to date the next step would be to reset the speaker and device you are connecting it to.
You may need to reset the product if the software is already up to date. To do this:
- Turn the speaker on by pressing the power button.Press the power button down for about 10 seconds. Wait until you see a blinking blue light and then a voice prompting you to select a language for the speaker.Lastly, proceed to set up the speaker.
The Bluetooth range for Bose speakers is about 33 feet so, be sure you are within range. Sometimes walls, doors, and other nearby bluetooth devices. Be sure to move the speaker closer to the connected device.
The power cord included with the speaker does not allow the speaker to charge.
Make sure that the power cord is properly connected at both ends. Unplug both ends of the power cord then reconnect both ends firmly to the speaker and the USB power source.
Be sure to check for available updates for the product as outdated versions of the software can sometimes cause issues. This will fix bugs and provide the latest features and enhancements. This can be accomplished through the Bose connect app or your computer. After connecting the product to your computer, follow the update instructions on the Bose website.
You may need to reset the product to bring it back to its default factory state. Keep in mind that this will delete all saved settings. To do this:
- Press the power button to turn on the speaker.Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds. Wait until you see a blinking blue light coming from the Bluetooth button. You will then hear a voice prompt asking you to select a language.Set up the Bluetooth speaker.
If the USB cable included with your product still does not allow it to charge after ensuring firm connection and the updates and reset do not help the issue, try connecting your product with a different USB cable.
If you have replaced the USB cable and the product still does not charge, you may need to replace the AC adapter. AC adapters with a higher current rating generally charge products faster than those with a lower rating. Current ratings are typically listed on the label for the AC adapter in Amps (A) or milliamps (mA). A current rating of 1 A / 1000 mA or higher is recommended. The closer the amp rating of the AC adapter is to the maximum amp rating of the product, the more quickly the product will recharge. Refer to the specifications indicated on the product or within its owner’s guide for details. Be sure to use a safety-agency-approved AC adapter that meets local regulatory requirements (e.g. UL, CSA, VDE, CCC).
After exhausting all other methods, you may need to replace your product’s battery. With prolonged use, lithium ion batteries deplete their function overtime. The normal charging power for a lithium ion battery is about 300-500 charging cycles. To avoid future problems, be sure to purchase a genuine replacement battery.
