What you need

Step 1

              Heating Wire               
  • Remove the five screws to loosen the the outer housing from the internal components.
  • Pull up on the black plastic housing until it is dislodged from the base.

  • You will need to remove the toasting lever by removing the black tab from the lever.
  • You will now be able to completely remove the housing from the base of the toaster.

Step 3

  • You will need small chain nose pliers to check for slack on either end of the broken wire.
  • If there is no slack in the wire, you must buy extra nichrome wire in order to fix your toaster.

Step 4

  • Pull the slack out of the wire and pinch the two ends of the wire together.
  • Gently twist the two ends of the wires together to establish a connection.
  • Disclaimer: The wires are flat so you will require extra wire if you are not able to obtain enough slack.
