              Cap Removal               
  • Make sure the engine is turned off before beginning.
  • Use your hands to remove the spark plug wire. It should pop off easily with little effort

              Spark Plug Removal               
  • Use a socket wrench with a 13/16" hex bit to unscrew the spark plug from the engine. You will probably need to use a long hex bit in order to get to the bolt.
  • Pull the spark plug out of its housing with your hands.
  • Alternatively, you may use a wrench or pliers to remove the spark plug instead. (Shown in the second image.)

I have a Briggs and Stratton engine on my lawn mower but can’t get at the spark plug as there is some kind of black plastic housing in front of it.
