Step 1
Buffalo HD-CE1.0U2 Disassembly
- The images you see are just of the enclosure. I have already removed the internal components. Its just to show the outside shape that will be opened to change the internal HD.

Step 2
- Three plastic hinges are on the top. Try and find them through the ventilation holes and push down with a thin objects. All other sides are held down so its will not come as open as seen in the picture. The images represent after all the sides are out. You will have to wedge something in there to keep on working on the other sides.

Step 3
- On this side, only one of the plastics clips was accessible through the holes. The lower one close to the USB had to be pried open with a flat head screwdriver. This lower plastic clip seemed to have broken on my end.

Step 4
- This front side holds three hinges as well. You will need to use a flat screwdriver to work on it by slowly prying. Out of 3 clips only one broke during the opening attempts.

Step 5
- Once all three sides (top, front and back) are freed the casing should open up like a clam. Slowly open it and you don’t want to rip the tapes securing the lower side. The HDD is not attached in any way to the plastic so simply remove it by hand.

Step 6
- Three #2 Phillips (I think is the name) are removed here and its a simple slide out afterwards and there you have you HD. You can insert another one and reassemble.
