What you need

  • Push the button on the bottom right of the camera and then remove the plastic surrounding the lens.

  • Use the spudger to pop off front case.

  • Pull the loosened cover off and you are finished.

              Top Cover               
  • Once both the front and rear covers are removed, disconnect this ribbon cable by flipping it up and disconnecting it.

  • Remove these three screws from the rear side of the camera.

  • Remove this screw from the front of the camera.

Step 7

  • Disconnect this cable from the motherboard by sliding it in the direction of the cable (toward the top of the camera).

Step 8

  • Remove the top cover and you are finished.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.

In step 5, it is only necessary to take out the 2 SST screws at ~ 10 and 3 o’clock. The grey screw at 7 stays with the body.

In step 7, you need to SLIDE the connector toward the top of the camera toward the dial. The tweezers in the photo are moving LEFT, not toward the viewer as I interpreted it. If you lift it up as if to disconnect a socket (like in step 4) away from the mother board with tweezers, you’ll easily destroy the delicate connector (as I found out).
