Introduction
If you still experience the error, you can follow this guide to disassemble the camera and manually clean the inside of the camera and the lens.
What you need

Outside Case
- Turn off the camera by pressing the power button above the LCD screen.
- Remove the battery and memory card.

- Remove the screws on the bottom of the camera using a Phillip’s #00 screwdriver.

- Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws on the right side of the camera.

- Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the screws on the left of the camera underneath the “A/V out Digital” cover flap.

- Remove the screw on the bottom of the camera near the battery and memory card slots using a Phillips #00 screwdriver.
- This screw will be longer than the rest of the screws.

- Remove the front, back, and side casings from the camera.

E18 Error
- Clean the lens and the area surrounding the lens with a brush.
- Tweezers can be helpful when removing sand.
- Reassemble the camera and if the E18 error persists, further disassembly of the camera may be required.
